The pachage contains 10 single dose oral vials with a patient information leaflet.
Each single dose vial of 10 ml contains:
active ingredient: l-carnitine 0.50 g.
with sodium saccharine as sweetener and fruit flavour
Supplemental usage of L-carnitine BSK is approved in these conditions:
Carnitine, derived from methionine and lysine amino acids, is found in nearly all cells of the body, and beneficial effects of this component is more related to L isomer of it. L-carnitine plays a critical role in energy production; it transports long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria so they can be oxidized ("burned") to produce energy. It also transports the toxic compounds generated out of this cellular organelle to prevent their accumulation.
Gatrointestinal disturbances nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, heartburn, gastritis, diarrhea, body ador (fish smell), and seizure have been reported after oral use of L-carnitine.
In order to reduce GI disturbances dissolve the solution in drink or liquid foods and consume preferably during or following meals.
Anticoagulant drugs similar to warfarin, thyroid hornones, insulin and oral hypoglycemic drugs.
Consult physician before use if you have:
severe renal impairment (because of the accumulation of the metabolites trimethylamine and trimethylamine-N-oxide), Seizures, Hypothyroidism patients (because of thyroid hormone antagonist effect), Diabete (the risk of hypoglycaemia), and liver disease.
L-carnitine is secreted in the breast milk. There is no reported adverse effects of supplemental doses have been given to infants in breast milk and formula, but the effects of large doses used while nursing are unknown.
