Vitamin A is one of the essential vitamins for growth, development and preserving vision and its deficiency will lead to decreased resistance against infections, night blindness and growth retardation.
Vitamin D controls intestinal absorption, renal reabsorption and mobilization of calcium from the skeleton and by affecting the bone cells, it stimulates the skeletal growth. Vitamin D deficiency leads to rickets in children and the administration of vitamin D containing supplements is effective in preventing of this disease or eliminating its symptoms.
Zinc is one of the main parts of several enzymes and normal growth and tissue repair depend upon adequate amount of this mineral in the body. Some of the symptoms of zinc deficiency include anorexia, growth retardation and alopecia. Besides, zinc deficiency in children leads to a decrease in body resistance against infections which contributes directly to mortality of young children.
Iron is one of the essential minerals and the most part of it is in hemoglobin which is the major factor in oxygen transport. This mineral deficiency in children will lead to behavioral problems and learning disability.
Iron, vitamin A and vitamin D deficiency is a prevalent nutritional problem in under 2 years old children in Iran and administration of the supplements which contain these micronutrients is one of the main strategies implemented in Iran to solve this problem. ADZOFer® oral drop provides the ministry of health’s recommended dose of these micronutrients for administration to under 2 years old children. This product also contains 5 mg of zinc in each milliliter which provides the children’s daily need for this mineral.
The benefits of using liposomal iron in this product are the faster and better absorption, fewer side effects and more stability of iron which is because of the placing of this mineral’s particles in lipid bilayer
membranes and its protection from mouth and stomach enzymes, alkaline compounds and materials such as free radicals.
